1928 – A new look logo
In 1928, a new turning shop was started up
at the Darmstadt plant to house processing
machines and was the first building to be
given the new company logo.
This new company logo was selected from
numerous ideas put forward by the
Darmstadt-based designer Hartmuth Pfeil
and recalls the company's roots in its use
of CSD - Carl Schenck Darmstadt.
From the 1960s onwards, the logo was
enclosed in a circle which in turn was placed
inside a square. The word Schenck was
added in 1983.
In 1997, the circle was removed but the logo
still remained
inside a box.
In 2006, as a sign of further development, the
logo was freed from its rigid box in a
conscious move to produce a strong brand
illustrating growing flexibility and dynamism.
