1891 – A new era in weighing techniques
From 1885 onwards, Carl Schenck
concentrated his work on his invention, the
automatic precision balance for weighing
narrow track and suspension track vehicles.
While the minimum load on the balance was
permanently counterbalanced on the scales,
a single precision balance slide used the
maximum load to establish the laden weight
of
the vehicle.
This invention was patented in 1891 under
the name
of “platform scale with automatic
motion precision balance”.
